Bobby Shmurda was denied bail today by New York City judge Abraham Clott. Judge Clott told the court that he sees “no substantive change” in Shmurda and is “satisfied that the case is extraordinarily serious.” Shmurda’s attorney Alex Spiro told The FADER that the rapper and his family are “frustrated” and have been raising questions regarding why he isn’t being helped.

Shmurda has now been denied bail seven times since his December 17 2014 arrest on drugs and weapons charges. It was reported before his last appearance in December that his family got together a new bail package, but that was turned down as well. Late last month, controversial pharmaceutical CEO Martin Shkreli told HipHopDX that he planned to bail Shmurda out of jail.

Shmurda’s next court date is tentatively scheduled for February 22 which is when he will go to trial for several charges brought against him after a woman some reported was his girlfriend reportedly tried to sneak him a knife while behind bars. Last week in court, Shmurda’s lawyer raised questions about the involvement of some of the case’s arresting officers.
