From NY Daily News:

Rapper DMX was recovering at the home of his ex-wife Wednesday after his near-death experience Monday night, his lawyer said.

[Murray] Richman said DMX spent six hours in a hospital emergency room after he was found with no pulse in the parking lot of a Ramada Inn in Yonkers.

After his release, the “Party Up (Up in Here)” performer returned to the hotel to pick up his belongings and made a beeline for [his ex-wife] Tashera’s house.

“He bounced right back,” Richman said Wednesday. “He’s doing fine. He’s going to be performing Saturday in Pennsylvania.”

While police described the hotel emergency as a possible overdose, Richman said it was related to a pre-existing medical condition.

“To the best of my knowledge, it was an asthma attack,” he said.

He said it likely was a coincidence that DMX regained semi-consciousness after receiving the opioid-reversal drug Narcan by first responders.

“The cops did a good job. I have to give them credit,” Richman said.

Police declined to identify DMX by name but said the 45-year-old victim in the Ramada parking lot reportedly ingested some form of powder before going into distress.

“That individual was found to be in a lifeless condition with no pulse, no respirations,” Lt. Patrick McCormack previously told The News, without naming the rapper.

He said officers immediately began CPR and administered oxygen, and after about a minute, the victim slowly began to gasp for air.

As ambulance personnel arrived, the first responders decided to administer Narcan intravenously, McCormack said. The victim quickly responded and became semi-conscious, he said.

Narcan has no effect on a patient who’s not overdosing.

McCormack said nothing illegal was found at the scene and no charges were pending.
