Big KRIT drops the title track from his space-funk themed upcoming sophomore album, Cadillactica. KRIT said he was stepping back from sample-based trunk knockers on this concept album to work on original compositions. If this song is any indication of the content on the rest of the LP, it should be a great listen.
Kritical drops a kinda surprise mixtape. Like any Big KRIT project, you can expect great Country Rap Tunes with catchy cooks, KRIT’s bumping soulful beats, explanations of his musical influence as well as some snippets and remixes he was featured on recently. It’s a good catch-up to what KRIT has been doing lately and what he plans to do soon.

Big K.R.I.T. sat down with XXL to give them the explanation behind his album title for his sophomore album, Cadillactica. Read the except below.
Cadillactica—how did you come up with that name?
It’s just one of those things that I was thinking about, ’cause in my first cover Live From The Underground, it’s a Cadillac that has crash landed on planet earth. Just the whole storyline of being able to take you in reverse of where the Cadillac comes from. It’s creating this planet called Cadillactica where the soul and the funk comes from and being able to transcend my music with that idea. Diving deeper into what else can I do, how far can I take this record. How I can change these instruments and manipulate my voice; and make my voice an instrument. All these things to me are extremely important to really draw you in, to creatively try to do something totally different with this album. And I think it starts with the base of Cadillactica, you know, the planet of all this.“I feel like it’s important that I get out of my comfort zone for the sake of growth and my creativity and work with other people.”

Big K.R.I.T. made a stop during his King Remembered In Time tour in Seattle, WA. While in Seattle, K.R.I.T. sat down with Sermons Domain and spoke on a number of topics, including what he has in store for his sophomore album, a possible collaboration project with Wiz Khalifa, why “I Got This (Remix)” was never made, collaborating with other producers and his outlook on his work so far.
