A young rapper has been killed in a shooting – the tenth teenager murdered in London this year.
19-year-old Kyle McDonald – known as Veli Goodfellaz – was fatally shot in a a residential street in Battersea last night.
Emergency services were called shortly after 7.50pm and Kyle, from Fulham, was pronounced dead at the scene around 25 minutes later.
Police launched a murder investigation and said they were keeping an “open mind” over the motive and circumstances.
Former So Solid Crew member MC Harvey tweeted: “Just a kid why God why?” while fellow rapper Skore posted: “Lost My Lil Brother.”
Detective Chief Inspector Matt Bonner said: “We are still in the early stages of the investigation and are carrying out a number of inquiries into the circumstances of this incident.
“I am keen to establish if there was anyone in the area who saw or heard anything suspicious yesterday evening.
“I’m appealing for anyone who has any information no matter how small to please come forward and help us with our inquiry”.
Kyle’s next of kin have been informed and a post-mortem examination will be held later.
